Inlet Distributors
INLET DISTRIBUTORS
We are proud to announce that we now manufacture and export QWP Inlet Distributors in all grades.
Quality Wire Products offer Inlet Distributors for both Vertical and Horizontal Vessels for the respective Vessel ID (Inner Diameter) and their nozzle sizes. For unique sizes, we have the capability and experience to make the fabrication according to the needs of the customer.
The QWP Inlet Distributors offered by us conform to the standards of ASME Section VIII. Our Engineering team is always ready to assist and support our customers at every milestone of the order.
Besides, providing solutions for construction of new inlet devices, we also offer replacement services of existing inlet devices.
Design Features
QWP Make Inlet Distributor Device
QWP Make Inlet Distributor is a new efficient Inlet Device that can withstand the highest momentum of the feed flow inside a horizontal or vertical vessel. The even distribution of the fluids across the cross section geometries becomes important so that the channeling of these fluids is minimized, which will lead to a more reduced equipment efficiency.
The reduced momentum gives ample residence time to the incoming fluids, enough to allow for the removal of liquids and solids present in the feed. The inlet vane device Vane Height is a factor that is also taken into consideration while designing the device as per the customer’s requirements.
For critical separator an application, where there is a very high liquid removal efficiency requirement and the nozzle size is accordingly designed to meet the momentum criteria. This momentum criterion is crucial to the separator performance, so any desired momentum limit can also be achieved by sizing the nozzle.
The feed conditions for the vessel are very crucial in the design of an inlet device. The properties such as the flow rate and density at the operating pressure and temperature of the gas and liquid phase, and the viscosity and surface tension of the liquid are the primary parameters. The size and geometry of the upstream piping and scrubber inlet nozzle are also important factors in the performance of the vessel.
There are possible situations in which the inlet device is subjected to a load that is heavier than the suggested value. For example, if a inlet device is fitted to existing nozzles during revamps or in flare system knock-out drums where extremely high flow rates are the norm in severe relief situations. The inlet devices are sometimes required to withstand liquid slugs and in such cases, one of the following measures are to be considered so as to avoid the bending or the breakage of the vane tips :
- Divided Ladder construction
- Larger Vane Material Thickness, i.e. 5mm
- Stiffening strips at the back of long, unsupported vane tips
Key Features
- Specifically designed catching rims to capture additional liquid and minimize re-entrainment.
- Can be used in gas liquid separator vessels to enhance the separation efficiency.
- Can withstand upto 8400 Pa of momentum (of the inflowing media)
- Each Row of Vanes in a Inlet device is welded to a mounting strip at the top and bottom.
- The Assembly includes a row of vanes, known as the Vane Ladder.
- Ladders also can be brought in through their own nozzle of the vessel.
- Momentum criteria is the highest among its peer inlet devices
- QWP make inlet devices help in even distribution of the inlet flow across the vessel or column cross sections.
